Amazon Rainforest , Planet's Lung is Under Threat

We're busy in our daily routeen . We are not too much aware whats the devastating thing is happening in this world for us all . Our Lung is under threat . 

The devastating news of fire at Amazon Rainforest come to rise when Brazilian space research center INPE claimed that the fires at Amazon increases by 80 % this year . This is the very disastrous news not only for Brazil but for whole Planet .

According to the space agency , there are more than 72,000 fires detected in Brazil's Rainforest from Jan 1  to Aug 20 , 2019 . Moreover , 9500 fires are detected since Thursday so far . These are the highest numbers since the record began in 2013 .

Also the two states of Brazil includes Acre and Amazonas are under emergency . Hundreds of temporary firefighters are hired by Brazil's environmental agency ( IBAMA ) . In recent developments , Brazil also give charge to Army to fight the fire .

Following are the questions which I'm going to discuss in this blog to make you understand more easily about the Amazon and its fire history ;

• How Amazon is significant for our atmosphere ?

Amazon rainforest is a single largest rainforest of our planet . To understand its importance we have to know the Oxygen producers division .

According to above graph , 50% of world's oxygen is produces by Marine macrobes , microorganisms that lives in marine environment i.e, in salted water of ocean or sea . Macro Algae , also salted water plants , produces 25% of world's Oxygen .

and the remaining 25% is produce by Land Plants .

It is considered that Rainforests produce 28% of Oxygen , produced by Land Plants . 

and only Amazon produces 20% of it .

- Daintree Rainforest (2600 km2 ) ( North East Coast of Queensland , Australia )

- SouthEast Asian Rainforest ( 1,112,000 km2 ) (between Asia and Australia )

- Tongass National Forest ( 17 mn Acres ) ( United States )

- Kinabalu National Park ( 754 km2 ) ( Malaysia )

- Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve ( 26000 Acres ) ( Spain )

The significance of Amazon lies in its Oxygen production which is almost 20% of the world's Oxygen . Moreover , a research shows that Amazon is home of every 1 out of 10 species of world . Statistics tell , it includes approximately 390 billion trees , also 40,000 plant species , 2.5 million insect species , 1300 bird species and almost 400 mammals . Its a huge number of stats which are not be neglected . So we have to raise voices to save these stats . 

• Who is responsible for these fires ?

In past also , Brazil is considered as responsible for fires and one of the reasons is that it comprises largest area of Amazon of almost 60%.

This time many environmental activists considered Jair Bolsonaro , recent president of Brazil , responsible of these fires . They think his policies for forest , make this happen . His policies boosts deforestation  . As the Brazilian economy is struggling , he considered to take advantage of Amazon by giving free hands to different companies for deforestation . Farmers also burnt trees which also cause this fire . In fact the different NGOs that took voice against this deforestation were banned by President Bolsonaro . These organizations accused him of relaxing environmental controls in the country and encouraging deforestation . 

President Bolsonaro's policies were controversial from the beginning , he made campaign promises to restore the economy by exploring the Amazons economic potential .

Moreover , President also cuts Environmental Enforcement agencies budget by $23 million . It will also make easier for people to exploit the forest .

In fact in recent , Director of INPE , National Institute of Space Research Brazil , defended satellite data which shows increase of deforestation of Amazon by 88% higher than recent years . You know what happened with him  , He got fired by President Bolsonaro . Is it real ...?

So these are all proofs with which , President Bolsonaro found guilty of these fires at great instant . 

As I told earlier that all the environmental activist organizations blame President Bolsonaro for this fire but President Bolsonaro found these organizations guilty of these fires .

Recently he said , " We took money away from NGOs . They are now feeling the pinch from the lack of funding . So , may be the NGO types are conducting these criminal acts in order to generate negative attention against me and against the Brazilian govt . This is the war we are facing . "


So President Bolsonaro's this statement also took questions on these NGOs . By the way Allah Knows better , who is wrong or who is right . But in my opinion , No matter who is responsible for all this but this will be alarming not for single govt or single country , but it will be devastating for our entire Planet .

Many of the World leaders talks about this disastrous issue . We will discuss them in succession .

" Just spoke with President Bolsonaro of Brazil . I told him if the United States can help with the Amazon Rainforest fires , we stand ready to assist ! " said Donald Trump , President US , recently in his tweet .

" The fires ravaging the Amazon rainforest are not only heartbreaking , they are an international crisis . We stand ready to provide whatever help we can to bring them under control and help protect one of Earth's greatest wonders " says Boris Johnson , UK's PM  , recently in his tweet .

" Our house is burning . Literally . The Amazon Rain forest - the Lungs which produces 20% of our planet's Oxygen - is on fire . It is an international crisis . Members of the G7 Summit , let's discuss this emergency first order in two days " says Emmanuel Macron , French President .

Meanwhile , many officials and unofficials are raising their voices to condemn Amazon fire . In fact their are protests against Brazilian govt , inside and also across the globe . It is considered as International Crisis by every official and unofficial . 

• What Future measures we have to make to protect Amazon?

As many global leaders considered it an international crisis . and its right too because it has serious effectiveness on whole Planet . So we will not give this crisis in hands of single Brazil , all the countries across globe contributes in it . We will force International Organizations to take some serious steps on this crisis . This crisis isn't for now , it will be occurring for years and no remarkable steps were taken to prevent this issue . We have to understand its consequences which are very serious and very severe .

It will cause some serious damages to living beings in future . We will not work for human beings only . We have to take steps for different species too , for birds , for insects , for mammals which are dying in number of thousands due to this crisis . I saw some pictures and believe me it will kill my heart .
